Marathon of drawing
The drawing marathon is based on a concept similar to the sculpture symposium, which brings artists together in one place for a certain period of time in order to work together artistically. Instead of just collecting finished objects for an exhibition, the temporary studio community is intended to enable people to get to know people and their work intensively. Insight into the processes behind the work creates a deeper understanding of each other and promotes respect for the positions of colleagues. The insight should also enable visitors to observe the artistic works in progress. You have the opportunity to get in touch with the artists, follow their work processes and get an impression of what happens before finished works are presented in exhibitions.
The marathon also aims to give drawing, as an independent artistic genre, an appropriate stage. He presents a variety of different drawing positions, which differ in material, working method and intention, but which all have one important aspect in common: the drawing does not fulfill a serving function here, it does not stand as a sketch in front of a painting or as a plan in front of a sculpture, but claims its own equal place alongside the other genres of visual art.
