“Creative Traces – An artistic journey through one’s own world”
Education program in the art space hase29
in preparation for the exhibition “Cloud Catchers – Ingrid Hora” (opening on 27.09.2024)
with the kind support of the Friedel & Gisela Bohnenkamp Foundation
In our workshop program accompanying the exhibition, children and young people examine the relationship between (S)OMETHING and the WORLD and use artistic means to explore how their own story is connected to the world in which they live. The variety of works in the exhibition "Cloud Catchers - Ingrid Hora" offers plenty of inspiration.
Our artistic education team uses ideas from the exhibition to develop age-appropriate tasks and exercises that encourage children to look at their own history and work together to develop something new and unique.
Whether it's a taster course or a project week, participants experiment and create using artistic means and can understand their personal experiences as part of the bigger picture in a new way. In the design process and accompanying discussions, they not only gain new insights about themselves, but also experience their pictures or objects as new and independent in the interaction of the community.

Project day(s) in the hase29 studio: The collective in the personal
On one or more project days, group work is created in which students collect individual stories to present them as a collective project. Participants are given the opportunity to test the potential of artistic practice for dealing with themselves and the present. In creative terms, their personal experiences are transformed into a community-building artistic whole that can also provide new insights and shift perspectives for outsiders.
Trial days in the hase29 studio: Art as self-empowerment
Children of all ages discover works of art in the exhibition and receive inspiration from artists for their own artistic work in the studio. Works of art offer a special interface to the school curriculum. They appeal to feelings on a sensory level and awaken associations that the young people can discuss.
Every child can find a personal approach and develop independent solutions in the creative work process. Self-efficacy is a central element at the heart of our mediation programs. We encourage participants to bring in their own stories, backgrounds, experiences or views and to transform them into something new and unique in the creative exchange.
